What you can do now

Consolidate your super funds

How many super funds do you have? If you've had more than one job in your life, you probably have more than one super fund. And, if you have more than one super fund you are paying more than one set of fees which is reducing your overall super investment nest egg.

Consolidate your funds and only pay one set of fees.

Consider how your super is invested

Another consideration is how your money is invested. It needs to be invested in-line with your own personal circumstances.

Generally, the longer the time frame you have until you retire, the more risky the investments you may want to consider – such as shares and property. Then, as you move closer to retirement you may wish to consider moving your investment to a conservative style of investment, such as cash.

But, everyone is different!
